What We Look For

At LitDrop, we believe that length does not always equal significance. Thus, our focus is on engaging, relatively short pieces of writing. We want previously unpublished short stories, poems, and pieces of flash fiction that demand to be talked about and refuse to be forgotten.

Writers, be yourselves. Fancy language is not always impressive; being able to convey a strong message in simple words is. However, each of you has your own style, and we ask anything but for you to stray from it. LitDrop is a place for your to find yourself and explore your work. Occasionally, if we don’t have too many submissions, we aim to provide feedback.

How to Submit

Please send any work of flash fiction (under 1500 words), poetry, or short fiction (in our case, no more than 3000 words) in a document attached to our e-mail, litdropmagazine@outlook.com

Send no more than three (3) works at a time, whether it be within the genre of flash fiction, poetry, or short story, and indicate what genre you are submitting to in the subject box.

If you wish, include a short, third-person biography in the body of the e-mail, as well as a picture and any social media handles that you would like to be published with your work.

Simultaneous Submissions

We currently accept simultaneous submissions, but we ask that you please notify us (through email) if your work is accepted elsewhere so that we can withdraw it from consideration.

Turnaround time

We’ve been there. You submit to a magazine, hopeful and starry-eyed. A week passes. Then two. Then a month. No answer. We know it sucks, and for that reason, we promise to have a decision for you in less than 7 days.

Happy Submitting! Can’t wait to hear from you.
